Best pieces of advice Stevie has given? On anything really ❤

Hey anon, the one piece of advice that means the world to me is about moms. If you watch this interview, you’ll listen to Stevie talking about the importance of really getting to know your mom and asking her all those questions you’ve always wanted to. I have an amazing relationship with my mother so it’s easy to take things for granted, you know? Ever since I watched that, I’ve made a point of really getting to know her in ways beyond the daughter/mother relationship.

The second one is about manifesting your dreams, never giving up…

“They saw a girl who believed in herself. What I want to tell you is that it was just a dream. It was just a dream but I believed in it.”

There’s this thing that Stevie once said about never going away that resonates with me. I try to put myself out there and enjoy what life has to offer even when I’m going through something nasty or don’t particularly feel good about myself, and I owe it to Stevie because it’s something that I’ve had to work on, I definitely would just hide from the world before.

“Even in my really bad, drugged-out days, I didn’t go away. I still toured, still did interviews. I never gave up the fight. That’s why I’m who I am today, because I didn’t leave.”

And of course:

“If I’ve learned nothing else it’s that time passes and anger doesn’t do you much good. Something that seems really bad today is going to be better next week. And things you think are never going to go away soften with time. When things happen that upset me I try to do something that makes me happy.”

And last but not least, the classic:

“Your graciousness is what carries you. It isn’t how old you are, how young you are, how beautiful you are, how short your skirt is… What it is, is what comes out of your heart. If you’re gracious…

I got the word ‘ahimsa’ (non-violence) tattooed on my arm, at first, it was all about veganism and animal rights, but as time passed, I’ve come to realize that what comes out of my mouth matters just as much. That’s a good piece of advice from Stevie right there… Be gracious with your words, don’t use them violently to hurt yourself or others.

I realize I’ve made this very personal with the advice that speaks volumes to me, so this little list here has much more to offer.
